Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-07-18
1. Who we are
Global Scholarships (“we”, “us”) operates the Global Scholarships website, an information service that catalogues funded scholarships worldwide and links each listing to the provider’s own page. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the site. By using the site you agree to be bound by them.
2. What the service is (and is not)
Global Scholarships publishes a catalogue of scholarships that we re-verify against the provider’s official page on a rolling basis. We do not host application forms, award funds, or act as an agent of any scholarship provider. The final source of truth is always the provider’s own site, which we link to on every record.
3. Accounts
You may create a free account to save favourites and track application deadlines. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, in line with UK data-protection rules.
4. Subscriptions, credits and refunds
Some content is behind a paid unlock: either a one-time credit purchase or a subscription. Prices, billing cycle and included features are shown on the pricing page and confirmed at the checkout stage (which is operated by Stripe on our behalf).
Accuracy refund. Our accuracy promise is that every published listing is re-verified against the provider’s official page at least every 30 days. If a record you unlocked is materially wrong — the deadline, the funding, the eligibility, or a broken link — report it to us. If we agree the record was wrong at the time you unlocked it, we will refund the credit you spent (typically within two working days of the report being reviewed).
UK statutory rights. Where you are a UK consumer, you have the right to cancel a subscription for a full refund within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unless you have already used the digital content and expressly waived that right at checkout. This does not affect your other statutory rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the catalogue except through the API (if provided) and within its rate limits;
- attempt to defeat the paywall, share unlocked content with anyone who has not paid for it, or resell access;
- upload or transmit material that is unlawful, defamatory or infringing;
- use the site to send unsolicited marketing to other users;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site or bypass any security measures.
6. Intellectual property
The catalogue’s selection, arrangement, editorial notes and cost-of-living estimates are our copyright. Scholarship names, provider logos and quotations remain the property of their respective owners and appear here under fair-dealing exceptions for quotation and reporting (CDPA 1988, s.30). You may share links to individual records; you may not republish the catalogue in whole or substantial part.
7. Third-party links
We link to provider websites, official application portals and (where useful) cost-of-living references such as Numbeo. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or terms.
8. Warranties and liability
We take reasonable care to keep the catalogue accurate, but we do not warrant that every listing is free from error. Nothing on the site is legal, financial or migration advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot be limited under UK law.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the account settings page. We may suspend or close an account that materially breaches these Terms, with notice where practicable. On closure we retain a minimal audit record for legal and financial reasons (see the Privacy Policy).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; a material change will be notified through the site and, where you have an account, by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the site after the effective date is acceptance of the change.
11. Governing law
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (except that consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where they are habitually resident, if that is different).
